K-ordered Hamiltonicity of Iterated Line Graphs

چکیده
A graph G of order n is k-ordered hamiltonian, 2 ≤ k ≤ n, if for every sequence v1, v2, . . . , vk of k distinct vertices of G, there exists a hamiltonian cycle that encounters v1, v2, . . . , vk in this order. In this paper, we generalize two well-known theorems of Chartrand on hamiltonicity of iterated line graphs to k-ordered hamiltonicity. We prove that if Ln(G) is k-ordered hamiltonian and n is sufficiently large, then Ln+1(G) is (k + 1)-ordered hamiltonian. Furthermore, for any connected graph G, which is not a path, cycle, or the claw K1,3, there exists an integer N ′ such that L N ′ +(k−3)(G) is k-ordered hamiltonian for k ≥ 3. c © 2008 Elsevier B.V. D-Spectrum and D-Energy of Complements of Iterated Line Graphs of Regular Graphs
The D-eigenvalues {µ1,…,µp} of a graph G are the eigenvalues of its distance matrix D and form its D-spectrum. The D-energy, ED(G) of G is given by ED (G) =∑i=1p |µi|. Two non cospectral graphs with respect to D are said to be D-equi energetic if they have the same D-energy. In this paper we show that if G is an r-regular graph on p vertices with 2r ≤ p - 1, then the complements of iterated lin...

متن کاملDegree conditions for k-ordered hamiltonian graphs
For a positive integer k, a graph G is k-ordered hamiltonian if for every ordered sequence of k vertices there is a hamiltonian cycle that encounters the vertices of the sequence in the given order. It is shown that if G is a graph of order n with 3 k n /2, and deg(u)þ deg(v ) nþ (3k 9)/2 for every pair u; v of nonadjacent vertices of G, then G is k-ordered hamiltonian. Minimum degree condition...
متن کاملOn a Closure Concept in Claw-Free Graphs
If G is a claw-free graph, then there is a graph cl(G) such that (i) G is a spanning subgraph of cl(G), (ii) cl(G) is a line graph of a triangle-free graph, and (iii) the length of a longest cycle in G and in cl(G) is the same. A suucient condition for hamiltonicity in claw-free graphs, the equivalence of some conjectures on hamiltonicity in 2-tough graphs and the hamiltonicity of 7-connected c...
متن کاملAn Inductive Construction for Hamilton Cycles in Kneser Graphs
The Kneser graph K(n, r) has as vertices all r-subsets of an n-set with two vertices adjacent if the corresponding subsets are disjoint. It is conjectured that, except for K(5, 2), these graphs are Hamiltonian for all n ≥ 2r +1. In this note we describe an inductive construction which relates Hamiltonicity of K(2r + 2s, r) to Hamiltonicity of K(2r′+s, r′). This shows (among other things) that H...
